The other day I was thinking about a pantheon of comics where the authors pitted various superheroes against each other. Then later I was watching an episode of Mantracker and thought, "Now what would it be like for Les or Bear to face the Mantracker?"

Either one or both would be worth watching. Maybe we can make some suggestions to the Discovery folks here.

I wonder if Doug would be interested in going up against Mantracker?

I suspect that would be a non-issue. Survival living in the bush is not the same as eluding capture. While Les Stroud, and perhaps Grylls, is competent in a survival situation, neither wouldn't necessarily be any better equipped than anyone else to evade capture.
How about having Les and Bear, or Doug Ritter and Cody Lundin, with no supplies, try to catch Mantracker, who also has no supplies, over a long course that will take several days to complete in the best of circumstances?
Maybe Tom Brown could watch.

benjamin: I did not know that the Mantracker show was seen south of the border... It seems to be on several times a week in Canada (Outdoor Life Network) I but normally only watch a few minutes. I have only seen a couple of people actually beat the mantracker during the show - once was on the Saskatchewan prairies not far from where I live. They are filming season 4 right now.

The lead tracker, Terry Grant, I think is from Alberta - "Mantracker is Terry Grant, a 25-year-veteran of the Alberta Foothills Search and Rescue Team, and an expert in using clues such as footprints, probable path, and other signs of human presence to track prey."

I've often wondered how they manage to elude the guy especially with a camera crew basically on their heels.

That sounds like a cool idea for a television show. you should contact the producers (they both are Canadian and show on OLN so they might be the same production company.)

Bear would likely be better at not being found, due to military training. He likely went through SERE school in Britain, and theirs is pretty tough stuff-even though most of the course used to be conducted in farmer's fields, providing easy access to food.
Which was usually how they got caught...

Why don't we give Les home field advantage...I think he lives off the grid somewhere in the Ontario wilderness.

I tried watching Man Tracker it got kinda boring seeing them ride through the brush and people running, and just talking about planning, etc.

Did it get better after the first couple or same`ol each show?

From Wikipedia: the Prey's camera crew often change footwear, and are expert adventurers who often mask their presence in various ways.
