I love the site and there are tons of great posts and information on here. I do however have trouble finding posts maybe a month or so after reading it.
There are so many posts that to come across the same one gets frustrating.
If anyone has any tips to help that would be great. But with the absence of that I do have a suggestion to help. Maybe ad more sections to post under, for example,
Water storage/pure.
Food storage
Gardening
Fire starting
guns
reloading
bug out bag / emergency kits
..etc..etc..
Just an idea, if i am off my rocker let me know

I'm pretty new here myself. This might not be what you're talking about but have you tried the search function? (I believe you have to be logged in) I've had good luck with it.

You can always go into the Topic Options menu and add the topic as a watched topic. That makes it much easier to find later...

This forum software is, by internet standards old and creaky. That said, some means of "tagging" a post might be helpful. I'll take a look at the documentation and see what's possible, if anything. I too lose track of posts now and then, even with Search turned on. There's a huge number of reasons NOT to add new subforums.

Sorry, no tagging is available.
I'll ponder an idea or two.

You know something Resqdan ?
If I knew they will listen to you I would have dragged you into this forum a while ago ! LOL !
I have suggested the same a few times but , well, no one is listening. I said earlier that this is not a forum only , it is an on-line library for many of us and looking up something isnt that easy.

Martin, the last time I have mentioned this I suggested to minimize (downgrade) the smaller sections (e.g.Market or lending Library ) from standing sections to threads with stickies in the "general" forum or "campfire" forum. There are so many stickeys that 2 or 3 more won't make much difference. And when you do that, you have only to rename those standing sections to "Gardening" or "medical" or whetver.
Anything that is specific enough.

If a thread looks interesting I sometimes post a comment just to get my foot in the door. I usually try to make a substantive post but a simple one word post like "thanks" or "bump" would work. Once you have a comment in a thread finding it again is as simple as referencing your own user name on the members page and looking at the chronological list of your posts.

You are right art, but there are some members like me who dont visit very often. And then time to time I like to see ANY thread that has been written about something ( e.g. gardening or medical ) while I was absent. Making the proper sections/categories in the forum helps searching in general (even for old posts), in addition it makes the forum looks more organized.

Many times it seems to me that the three main sections in the forum ( survival, campsire and LTS ) are not really separating anything from anything. There are times that I would toss a coin to decide where to write a certain thread. Gardening, Medical, Gear ..etc. are more specific.
