Interestingly, when we talk about Urban kits and how to carry more without stuffing our pockets, I have seen SOME talk about items that do double duty but not a whole lot...(belts and bracelets made of paracord, dogtags that are mini kits, etc---(better make sure you don't HAVE to have a belt to hold those pants up if you ever use it for the cord))

I was wondering how creative and ingenious we could get

so far we have
1)a paracord belt and bracelet.
2) compass on a watch
3)GPS on a watch
4) now we can add a personal defense weapon:
sap cap

What else could one work into their everyday apparal that would seem innocent enough to the casual observer, but still be useful in an Urban situation without being outlandish(ie. switchblade shoes or wire saw zippers)

Depends on how hard you are willing to work for it.

1) re-sew all of your buttons with a button backing up the button. (1 button behind the cloth and 1 in front.) First effect is that your buttons will never fall off. Second effect is that if they do you will surely have another one handy

2) cover Xacto blades in nail polish and sew them into the lapels of your shirts and jackets. (the nail polish is to prevent rust stains and will easily come off in use should you need them)

3) wind extra spiderwire or nylon thread around the stiches holding on your backing buttons (fishing line, thread, snare material)

4) embed needles, barbless (barbs will prevent retrieval later) fish-hooks and safety pins in our paracord belt from the back and protect with some duct-tape

5) Get a larg-ish belt buckle with concealed lock-back blade

6) stuff the titanium charge-card blade in the sole of your boot and re-seal with shoe-goo

7) sew a paper-clip in the cuffs of your shirt (expedient hand-cuff key if needed)

8) sew zip-ties in the side-seams of your trousers (should be able to get 4 - 6 per side)

9) sew a thin, full back pocket into your jackets and always keep a large trash bag or tube-tent there for shelter. If it's cold enough for you to need a jacket then you probably want a shelter.

10) you could probably sew a wire-saw into the cuffs of your pants after removing the split-rings

But most of all don't ever carry a pocket tin of mints it might pull your pants down

What about a Self-defense Wallet ?

See the one made by Fred Perrin at http://www.donrearic.com/perrin.html (a web page, in english, about Fred's knives and other products).
Go down, at about 3/4 of the page, for the wallet picture.
