I have a persistent problem of tightness of my chest muscles when I feel stress out at work.

I have difficulty breathing normally but my breaths aren't wheezing like a emphysma patient.

Am I the only person having this problem?

Is there a drug that reduce chest muscle contraction so I can breath?

Medical advice you get on the internet generally ain't even worth what you paid for it.

Have you thought about seeing a doctor?

See a doctor and have a stress test done to see if you have any blocked attires. Do it right away!

Seriously, Seek the wise counsel of a competent physician for the "Chest tightness". Any chest discomfort with or without respiratory problems should be evaluated, ASAP. Additionally, there is nothing at work worth dying for. Best of luck. smile

Failed to mention, been there, done that, won't do it again.

Besides, if we start discussing nitroglycerin in here, I'm genuinely afraid where the conversation will lead... grin

Just seeing the thread title, and going no further, my thought was "heart" - get to a MD Man. You are describing the class FAIL in a stress test

That said, I'll say that I occasionaly also get/got (hasn't happened in years) a SHARP pain right in the sternum - yeah, went to the hospital, and they found a neuroskeletal problem, I moved JUST the right way, I'd feel a "pop", and all was well - seems in certain weird conditions, I could catch a muscle behind a ridge on the sternum, and BOY would it hurt until it got "unstuck"

Chest tightness is a pretty good reason to call the paramedics and get on a monitor right-freaking-now, and on to the ER. Even young folks die of heart-lung problems. Scheduling an appointment with the doc, followed by referral to the cardiologist, followed by a scheduling a stress test is a bit like finding that the couch is on fire and choosing to shop for a fire extinguisher rather than summon the firemen. Time is muscle. A stitch in time saves nine. The early bird gets the transvenous cardiac endarterectomy. Like that. There are too few active and coherent ETS players to risk losing any of you.

Chemistry folk song sung to "The sound of silence"

"Hello glycerin, my old friend,
It's nice to join with you again,
Nitrogen has been heating,
And sulfuric acid has been placed
in the flask
This is the sound of violence...

In restless times I smoulder still,
narrow street so rubble-filled
neath scortched and burning lamp,
I touch my lab coat, it is damp,
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of
A bursting light
That split the night
This awoke the sound of violence"

There's more, but it gets a little twisted.
