A few links - and check Sterling Rope's site for RIT-500 and RIT-900 ropes:

See HotLine

See CMC ProSeries Escape Line

One price on Sterling's Personal Escape Rope (RIT-500?) - the NFPA certification is significant.

This entire site deals with high-temperature gear; check out the H2H line - looks interesting; almost too good to be true.

There is more to look at out there, but this should get folks started. Check out RSI, CMC, and other rescue gear sites and as I mentioned previously, the NFPA certifications are significant. Fleeing a burning building is not rock climbing and the NFPA rated gear is pretty darned sturdy (and heavy) stuff. Although those small diameter lines still make my eyes bug out... but they are intended for one time use, no falls. Urk!

HTH,

Tom
