Pesronal experience...I have the Grundig/Eton (whoever they are now) 'emergency' radio that does am/fm/sw (no TV). It was just before the one with noaa and the cell phone. Aside from the analog tuner (which does allow me to 'tweak' the tuning rather than the digital), it doesn't loow easy repeated tuning. You have to KNOW where the station is. If you want to find the station again (especially easily) get a digital tuner. For 'surfing the dial' I like it. Yes I'd prefer to have the one that'll charge a cell and have noaa but I have other things to do that. I don't think I have ever used the crank.....What I do is save the 'used' aa batteries from my flashlights...when they won't give me power for anything else...they'll run the radio for what seems like forever.......
