I just had a thought....many use the PJ and cotton balls for fire making. Has anyone used PJ on Q tips. Sort of like a 'matchstick'. Yes I know that you can't 'strike it to light it' type of thing...but the thought came to me that you can have several 'small' individual easy to carry sticks. It would seem to me that it might be easier to carry several thin 'sticks' than several bulkier cotton balls. Though I do not know how effective they might be in actual fire starting, I though someone might like to play with this.

Just hold them horizontally… not straight up and down vertically. I’ve had some petroleum soaked burning things like to drop some flaming drops of liquid petroleum on whatever is below. If that be your hand, good luck to you.

I use long slivers of fat wood with a small pice of a PJ ball twisted around it. lights quick and burns long and strong when the fat wood catches. smile

If you're going to use Q-tips like that, be sure to use the ones with the paper/fiber stem, not the hollow plastic ones.
