Not sure if these have quite made it to mass production, but the ideas are intriguing, to say the least:

Hanging Cocoon for Emergency Outdoor Survival
Looks rather like a..... well, you'll have to see for yourself.

Canine Earthquake Rescue Jacket
My 10-lbs. mutt suffers enough with the little sweaters and coats I buy him (though he needs 'em during those MN winters!). But that thing is 50,000 yen, which I think is equivalent to $448!

If you have any links of your own to share, feel free to add to this thread!

Cocoon Tent - ha ha looks stupid! - OK I will buy one!

I sent off an offer to buy.

Now assuming that this bloke across the pond doesn't come through. Who knows a capitalist, designer, tent shop that is interested in developing this?

* MATERIAL - Nylon/Goretex/thinsulate.

* COLOR - Woodland Camo, International Orange. (Oh OK and pink)

* DYMANICS - Multiple tiedown points for wind.

* RIBBED DOUBLE WALL - Must not contact condensation.

* HOOPS - To maintain diameter.

* STORAGE - Multiple internal zipper storage compartments.

* HEATING - High temperature candle pouch in bottom.

* TOP VENT - Open or close while seated by pulling cord.

* BOTTOM VENT - Open or close while seated by pulling cord.

I can't help it... the hanging cocoon should be sold in pairs!

My dog wouldn't wear that suit. Besides, it looks like it would create too much drag while crawling through debris. Although if it had wings, it might keep her from going through the little door in the chicken pen.

This looks like the trap that a man-eating plant would use to catch a quick meal!

That cocoon doesn't look comfortable at all, especially not for a tall person like me. You would have to sleep in the fetal position all night long.

"looks like some nasty vision of the future..."

I know some employers who would LOVE to have their employees in sacks pinned to the wall. At 8:00 a.m., the boss pushes a button and all the electronic drawstrings in the bottom open...

"OKAY, FOLKS! GET TO YOUR WORK AREA AND THE FEEDING ROBOT WILL HOOK UP YOUR BREAKFAST I.V. TUBES!"
