John... you are high on the chlorine level by FEMA guidelines...they recommend if you use city water supply (with already added chlorine) no additional chlorine is needed for yearly storage ...then rotate
with untreated well water the concentration would be for... 6% Clorox recommendation for untreated water is 8 drops per gallon...
8 drops is 1/8 teaspoon... 1/8teaspoon x 55gallons = 6.9 teaspoons.... 3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon... 6.9 divided by 3 = 2.3 tablespoons
the best answer is to get a pool chlorine test kit and determine the parts per million...IIRC the guideline is .5 - 1.5ppm.... anything over 5 ppm is hazardous to your health
