We stock on flashlights, pocket knives, multitools, FAKs and other such things, that prepares us for zombies' attack.

But what about a heart attack ??

Urban life brings with it stress , pressure and other "enemies" to prepare for. So, how do you get prepared for tonnes and tonnes of work, responsibilities, liabilities, whatever.

You need to remember miles and miles of To Do lists, contacts lists , and if you ever forget her B-Day, you are history.

So, how do you prepare for EVERYDAY survival in the urban environment ?

Being overworked and over-stressed, I have tried a combined system of daily planners, task bags ( work bag, general bag, emergency bag ), plus a few caches of EDC gadgets all over (office, dad's home, ..etc.)

It is OK, but ligfe is still very hectic and everyday is an adventure.

How about you ?

How did you make your everyday urban survival a bit easier?

I live in a small house which, putting it mildly, is severely lacking of storage space. I am currently in the process of getting rid of unused/unneeded items that have accumulated over the last 50 years. Along with getting rid of stuff, I am reorganizing the remainder. This, when complete, will remove an inordinate amount of stress in my daily life. It will also allow me to store more important items such as preparedness gear and supplies.

I cannot overstate how much I look forward to completing this task since it will greatly reduce the time it takes to complete even mundane daily chores such as housekeeping and food rotation. smile

Like Grouch, I'm streamlining my possessions. A favorite pastime is maintaining my library - archiving papers, tracking down new additions, etc... I used to run cross-country and work out regularly...have to get back into that habit.

There's also the Uncyclopedia's take on my profession:

"There is a considerable, and still growing body of scientific literature that suggests that geologists are in fact the world's first alcohol-based life form. Owing to a crucial imbalance in blood electrolyte levels...most find it necessary to imbibe vast quantities of alcoholic beverages at every opportunity."

Just sayin.' wink

Gaming with friends, reading, writing, range time, hiking, and people watching.

And my daily fix of over caffinated sugar water. I tried giving up my Dew, and I wanted to bite people.

Try and avoid stupid people.

I thought long and hard about this one and the common denominator for stress is stupid people, especially stupid people who have been put in a position to tell you what to do.

Yep stupid people. Oh and stupid people you have to tell what to do again and again because they are stupid people.
