I haven't brought this up till now because most people don't bring handheld transceivers with them but another use came to mind.

I've been finding radio pouches at Army-Navy Surplus stores for my boat's crew, at $5 each. We spend $75-$100 each for international orange, cotton, commercial pouches last about a year or two. These nylon military pouches should last at least 5 years (my guesstimate).

These will hold the longer range FRS transceivers or a SPOT (I haven't got a SPOT to actually size it).

I have also been using the USGI magnetic compass pouches to carry the smaller, 6 mile range, FRS hand held radios securely.

Just my experiences thrown out there to be used by everybody that has a need.
