Last night was Heros night at the local ball park. Usual cops and firefighters color gaurd. At the begining of the game, before the National Antham the team mascot is brought into the stadium by a National Guard Humvee. Here is a neon green team mascot standing in the back of the Humvee, carriing the flag, My seven year old Daughter looks at me and excitedly says "He's carrying the flag for the soldiers who are off fighting the war for us!" Very few times has she said something that left me speachless, This was one of those times. It ranks as one of the most proud moments that she has given me to remember in my mental scrap book. All I could do was give her a hug and tell her I was proud of her! As we were leaving the ball park later she saw a few of our gaurdsmen who have just returned home and on her own went to them, asked if they had fought in the war and after they had answered that they had, she gave them hugs! Lets just say that we definately stopped for icecream on the way home. Very proud day!
