Can someone hook me up with a good source for the Gransfors Bruks line? I am specifically looking for the Scandinavian Forest Axe. Thanks in advance!

I bought my Scandanivian Forest Axe from Piragis . They are a good company to deal with. $67 from them.

You can also order direct from Grandfors

http://www.gransfors.com/htm_eng/index.html

I have not looked for discount prices, but the service at Piragis is excellent.

JW,

highland hardware

They have them all. The Scandinavian forest axe goes for $69.99. Service was fine; nothing special, but no problems.

Take care,

Andy

These are the Rolls-Royce of axes. They have been extensively discussed on the two knife web forums; Bladeforums.com and knifeforums.com I believe there was a supply and demand problem when they gained popularity, and some less than stellar units came through. Another option is the Wetterling line of axes. You are looking at a close second and considerably less money. www.ragweedforge.com sells them and Ragnar gives superb service.

Chris,

Just yesterday I picked up my mini GB and the best part of it is that the person I got it from has a shop for 'Forest work' I mean he sells everything to work on/in trees and he keeps a Gransfors Bruks line of axes just for the love of them AND Scouting people get a nice discount! so it couldn't be better!

He got 5 mini GB's and mine was the pick off the litter with a great handle and head.

The best part he will have at least one off each Gransfors Bruks axe in a month or so and will put them on a nice large display board.
From him I heard that GB will stop making the American felling axe, I don't know if that's definite but again he imports GB in The Netherlands and said that when he spoke them they told this.

My GB mini is pure poetry, if people were only 50% in size this would be an small Forest axe for them.
As usual the mini came shaving sharp and has a nice ring to the 'blade'.
It carries extremely well in the toolstrap of my Utilikilt just below the nice scandinavian style blade that a good friend from the US made for me.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Are you talking about the Mini Belt Hatchet (smaller than the Wildlife Hatchet) that Gransfors was supposedly coming out with a couple of years ago (but which I haven't been able to find any word of)? I'd really like to find one...
