The eGear Pico lite, I believe either designed or endorsed by Doug, is one tough little flashlight. I was washing some jackets last night and when they were tossed into the dryer I immediately heard a clunking sound and instantly knew it was a key chain with gate keys, the eGear Pico lite and a couple of other tools. I’m delighted to report that the little pico light worked fine last night and is still going strong today. I was surprised as I’d first used the soak cycle and then ran the barn jackets through on the longer heavy duty cycle, so it was in water for sometime. I've been very pleased with the little lights and have a couple in kits and on key chains but this was the first real water test and it passed with flying colors! It clicked right on after finding it in the dryer. I did take the batteries out and let it sit all night but there doesn't seem to be any damage.

Haha, I'll second the Blaze orange idea, I recently got my hands on a roll of Blaze orange duct tape and have been re-doing some kits with that.

Third that idea... Enamel paint maybe?

My keychain e-Pico is scratched up pretty bad, maybe I'll wrap it in blaze orange tape.

Has anyone compared/contrasted the Pico light with the StreamLight Nano? They are similar but there are definite differences in their shapes, so I don't think either is a rebranding of the other. They both use the LR41 button cells and are rated at 10 lumens.

Is there any reason besides price that Doug endorses the Pico over the LRI MicroLight that he designed?

I had read a few reviews on the Nano and people were saying that the twist on/off top would unscrew in their pockets and spill the batteries. That was the only complaint that I read. One of the local stores had them on sale for $4.95 (originally $6.95) I bought 1 and haven't had the first problem with it. It's part of my EDC and gets banged around pretty good in my pocket. Do Pico lights have the problem of the top unscrewing?
