I just purchased a set of long burning candles (12 hours) to stow in my car. The package states they are edible as well (vegetable searin).

1. Is there any true value to eating the candles? Just because something IS edible doesn't mean you should eat it.

2. Even if the candle is edible, would it be wiser to go ahead and soak the candles in salt water to increase their life? It would seem to me that heat would be more important than food, especially since I am not likely to be travelling places where I'll be "lost" for an extended period of time.

Thanks

Willie Vannerson
McHenry, IL
