I recently purchased a new pocket folder for EDC. After extensive searching, and playing around with several different models over the past few months, I finally settled on the Zero Tolerance 0350 pocket folder.
First thing about the knife; this knife is BEEFY. I first was introduced to these from my brother, who has had one for a couple of years. I have to say, this is the most comfortable folder I have ever owned. The steel is s30v, I got the combo blade (it also comes with just a plain edge). The coating is flawless. The handle is some sort of polymer (I dont have the specs in front of me), layered over metal, with steel liners. There are ridges machined into the body, both where the thumb rests, as well as on the pommel. It is an assisted opening knife-there is a little finger catch on the back of the blade. A little pressure on it, and it springs right open-perfect for one handed use. And, there are thumb studs as well. It is a liner lock, that appears bombproof, and, according to my brother, and his buddies that use it, it is. The clip on it can be positioned 4 different ways, or simply removed. The handle is a full handle, complete with a chortle (the opening protrusion acts as the chortle once the blade is opened). All in all, this is a tough, well-built knife. It was designed for military use, and the model comes in several sizes. There is an 0300 model, that has a full size blade, but isn’t that great for sticking in a pocket. They also make fixed blade knives, but that wasn’t what I was in the market for. This blade should be with me, provided I don’t lose it, for years to come. I plan on running it through its paces over the course of the next year or so, but, honestly, I highly doubt I will harm this thing. It is built that tough. Several folks who recommended this are FAR more abusive to their gear than I am, and THEY swear by these-and, as far as I was concerned, that was good enough for me!
I found it online for less than $100-it normally retails for about $130 or so. The blade is about 3" long-making this an easy knife to use overall. If you are looking for a beefy, full sized folder, I HIGHLY recommend their knives.
