There is an abundant literature and utube videos related to different aspects of survival. What are some of your favorites, preferably with pointers that you have employed successfully.

I favor written literature, rather than the unregulated world of utube but there is good stuff there, if you are careful. An oldie that still has useful material is The Survival Book, 1959, by Allen, Pond, and Nesbitt - lots of real world examples, many from WWII, and much relevant data, but lacking in recent tech developments, like GPS.

I started reading annual editions of Accidents in north American Mountaineering, American Alpine Club, when I started climbing in college - lots of fruitful stories there - and all true.

There are good solid primers by authors like Raymond Mears and Larry Dean Olson, and don't forget this website right here - lots of info that will keep you out of trouble.

What eelse is out there which you have found useful??
