“The weather turned quite nasty over the last several days,” he said. “Due to the fact that he hadn’t eaten properly, hadn’t had enough water, physically I think he was drained and probably emotionally as well.”
He was also an inexperienced hiker who was not equipped with proper gear for a winter hike, he said.
