The most used part of my EDC is my Leatherman Wave. I regularly sharpen the straight blade with a Fiskars ceramic rod sharpener. It does a great job and it’s easy to use.

Should I use this to keep the serrated blade sharp? Should I even bother to try to sharpen a serrated blade? It never “seems” to be dull.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I use a Spyderco Sharpmaker to sharpen all my blades, including the serrated ones. The rods are triangular, instead of round. You can sharpen serrated edges on the pointy edges of the rods. Plain edges are sharpened on the pointy edges, then on the flats. It's a little pricey, but it does a great job.

I use a Sharpmaker too, but I've seen guys use the edge of their benchstones the same way we use the corner of the Shaprmaker rods.

The Sharpmaker is the way to go, but if your serrated edges don't seem dull you're probably OK.

The Sharpmaker makes a great Christmas gift from a wife!
