Ready of not, here comes our SHOT Show 2007 report:

www.equipped.org/shot_show_2007.htm

Knives and Lights are pretty much done, though there are a few missing images from some manufacturers. We'll be adding more gear later this coming week.

Because Orlando was sooooooooo much more expensive than Las Vegas, we owe a debt of gratitude to those generous ETS contributors who donated money to assist us and to Red Flare Emergency Supplies who rode to the rescue and ponied up some big bucks to sponsor our SHOT Show 2007 Report. Without their generosity, you absolutely would not be reading this SHOT Show Report.

Also, special thanks to Alan Romania and Terrill Hoffman for their efforts.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the write-up, guys. Seems quite a few marketing departments were driving the design in some models. But some others, wow! The Chris Reeve fixed blade looks very nice. And that Gerber Big Rock Camp has some nice lines, and a great price. As you mentioned in the write-up it's a decent alternative to a higher priced super-steel blade like the Mk3.

(Speaking of with, used the hell outta mine this weekend, batonning through a few logs for a fire. Found a staple in there somewhere, and now have a distinctive one of a kind single-serration straight edge. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Still a great knife!)

Thanks for the great report! I've been very interested in the Leatherman Freestyle and before this, the only place that seemed to have published anything about it was on a small blurb on ESPN.

Did anyone find out how much it weighs? OR can possibly give an estimate after handling it?

As noted, it was very much a prototype. No weight was provided and I wouldn't expect any. I would say it was lighter than expected for the bulk.

Question about the knives - nothing from Cold Steel?

I know opinions vary on CS, but they seem to have several new designs on their website (some of which look like copies of classic designs) which migh have useful applications e.g. Roach Belly. but I didn't see them on the report.

Deliberate omission or were they not at the show?
