I would love to know the real legal deal with these. I have several Internet snippets which make a case for these thing being illegal in our US of A. Which makes me think that buying one on ebay is a gray market purchase (this is a total guess). Is anyone knowledgable enough to assert what they BELIVE is the actual legal status of these items. I know its all technicalities but lets pretend we all follow the law all the time <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
our government [nuclear regulatory commission] believes this is a frivolous use of tritium and will not approve them for sale. I don't know if TAD gear ever got their tritium thumbstuds for knives approved by the NRC or not. Go figure -- the NRC allows tritium watches but not keychains
that's what I was told from a seller in the UK that would not sell them to me -- he said our government thought that was a trivial use of tritium and would not approve them for sale here
I believe, and I may be wrong, that it is the amount or tritium that is regulated by the US not the actual use. I am also under the impression that while these are legal to own in the US, they are not legal to sell... if that makes any sence.
