Attached are a few photos of my mini PSK. It's housed in a "Witz" waterproof container and is pretty tiny. Perfect for having in your pocket when you can't carry much else. The idea came from SgtMike88Ret who posts both on this forum and over on Knifeforums.com.

Enjoy!

Nifty. How thick is that case, inside? I can find the outside dimention, .75", but inside, no one is talking.

Pretty Cool.

I like Witz cases.

I have a one of my PSKs in a Witz "Keep-it-Clear" case and liked it so much that I packed the PSKs I made for family members in them as well.

The "Keep-it-Clear" cases are a little less than twice the thickness of the Witz "See-it-Safe" and "ID Locker" cases.

Not to mention the red Keep-it-Clear cases match the red Nalgene bottles I got for the kits... Because you can never look too good in a survival situation... And must look like you stepped from the pages of an L.L. Bean Catalogue when the press descends upon you... LOL

There's quite a few things that look like they would fit, but my post is a request to find out the brand, price and where you bought the following:

Signal Mirror
Compass
Tweezers

Nice little pack there! Do you happen to know how tall that whistle is? It looks about 3-4mm from the pic.

Thanks!

P.S. A small SAK or LM Micra would round that out nicely! :-) Okay, I couldn't hold it in! LOL

Signal Mirror: A lightweight plastic mirror; most outdoors stores have them. Here's an example at REI.

Compass: Suunto clipper compass removed from watchband housing. Another example at REI.

Tweezers: Uncle Bill's Sliver Grippers (keychain model). Again, an example at REI.

Granted, I didn't buy all of this stuff at REI. Their prices can be a little steep, so take a look at an outdoor store near you, the items can be found a little cheaper.

The Witz box I am using is called the "See-It Safe" (clear model). They can be found on the Witz web site here.

As far as other items, I'm usually carrying a Leatherman product of some sort (new Wave, PST, or Squirt P4) and/or a folding knife (Benchmade, Spyderco) with me. Gave up trying to fit a knife in the Witz box and went with tweezers instead. Good for pulling out those ticks, thorns, and stingers!

(p.s. - the whistle is about 0.31" thick)

Thanks Cedfire. I thought the whistle was thinner (I'm looking for one about 4mm max thickness, and that looked promising). 8mm is too big for a thing I'm working on.

Unfortunately, none of the stores near me really stock this stuff very well. They have 4 aisles of fishing lures, but maybe a 1/2 an aisle of survival gear, which is usually heavily peppered with camping gear that's dubious in both purpose and quality.

I've been collecting odds and ends for the last couple of years. Some of it was bought in stores, some as mail-order or over the internet. I bet if I added up all my shipping charges I would be mildly shocked.

Best strategy seems to be make a list of stuff and order from one place, that way shipping doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Campmor has some good prices, as does REI and EMS in their sale/outlet areas. Northern Mountain Supply and Sierra Trading Post are a couple of good discount places. Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops has an extensive selection. And there's always TAD Gear and Countycomm for the neat stuff.
