Looks pretty good - the case looks a little flimsy. The price looks about right too. If I had to buy those things separately they'd probably look like:

$15 - Infinity Ultra
$2 - Cheapo keychain LED
$7 - Some kind of spark rod
$5 - Cheap but decent knife
$5 - Small compass
----------------------------
$34 Total

Doug's kit covers a lot more ground, AND for a lower price.

The small compass is a Marbles brass compass that's supposed to be quite nice, and they sell it separately for $15.00. I have no opinion on whether it's worth that much, but a few CPF'ers have bought them and like them. I have a Brunton plastic GITD compass that another CPF guy sells for about $5 and it seems perfectly servicable.

Countycomm sells the red LED lights at $1.00 each in bags of 20. They also have them in white or blue. They are nice little lights and a terrific bargain; I've bought several bags of them to split up or give away. The white model might even be preferable to the Infinity Ultra in a small PSK, because of its smaller size. It would also be a nice addition to Doug's kit.

The firestarter is a "metal match" that they sell for $7. I think I'd rather have their Sparklite kit: http://countycomm.com/AVIATIONFIRE.htm

The surgical scalpel thing seems a bit hokey to me, but who knows.

That is not a STANDARD Infinity Ultra either...It is a little brighter and the finish is a LOT better.
The Blade is VERY sharp, and the compass is good quality.
I hate it when things like this are called survival kits...They are survival STARTER kits, at best....But this is a great bargain.
