You could take two pieces of leather, loop paracord back and forth inside the leather, sew it up and have a belt of any color.

If the need arises, you only have to cut open one edge of the belt to remove the paracord, and you still have a functional belt.

This would also allow belts of any size, design and color to be quickly and easily constructed.

What are the advantages of paracord over nylon? Working strength for 1/8" nylon is 28 lbs. and for paracord it is 26 lbs. That being the case, breaking strength can't be much different, and nylon is about half the price.

Paracord (3/16") is rated to 550 lbs breaking strength (that why it is also known as 550 cord). The inner (7?) strands are rated 25-30 lbs IIRC.

The greater breaking strength, plus the fact that you can pull out and use the smaller inner strands for other purposes are some of the advantages.

Welcome aboard!
