Andy, I hope you'll hold off a few days before you but a two piece rectangular British type set. I found and won one, Dutch and unissued on Ebay the other day. It was shipped Wednesday Feb 20, so should be here any day now. I'll try it out, and post a review.

Also there are two interesting types at http://www.sass-kit.fsbusiness.co.uk/catalogue16/Food_Water/. To figure cost, multiply by 1.43 to get $. I can't find these anywhere else. They sent me a catalog, and shipping to US is minimum $22.00 for the first kilo. OUCH! For reference about the PLCE pouch size, it means it will fit into a standard 3 magazine m-16 ammo pouch.

I hope this helps.

Peanut

Thanks. I've seen those but I too have been put off by the shipping. I'll be anticipating your report. Andy.

Thanks Mebrad, you have been truely helpful. I have been contacted directly by someone who has both the Trangia tins and the BCB empty tobacco tins. I will post it here as soon as I talk to him directly. I know others are looking for the tobacco tins as well.

Does anyone know if the Trangia stove will work properly with the standard GI canteen cup stove (designed for Trioxane or Hexamine tabs)?

I gather the Trangia has certain ventilation requirements, and possibly issues relating to height of cooking surface above the stove. Anybody tried this?

Thanks -- Karl
