Interesting but I do not want another app on my phone. I went to the Temblor.net website and found the kits they offer; they like headlamps, but they prefer a cellphone to a radio for news. It may be a generational thing with younger folk not knowing about old technology like analog AM radio.
I find it interesting that they presume cellular signals will be available. AM radio signals may be available from outside the earthquake zone while local cell towers may be effected. Don't know about you, but my AM/FM Sony radio is way easier on batteries than is my iPhone... or am I the one being presumptuous?
