I keep a psp+ in my life jacket. The pouch will not seal on the end "zip lock" area. As extra protection I have it in a ziplock bag.

Any suggestions for a replacement pouch?

Would you consider a hard case? Like a beach safe or tupperware?

For a replacement pouch, I'd get one of the Aloksak brand pouches. It will need replacing eventually but they are readily available. I had a modified standard PSP in the 5" X 4" model. Just checked it & transferred it to a new one. They're supposed to be dive rated.

I keep a Doug Ritter PSK in my life jacket spare radio pouch and it has stayed sealed up perfectly.

I have two radio pouches, the first has the aforementioned PSK and the other is empty for when I actually carry a radio. I carry a 55gal and 2 35gal trashbags in one pocket and a pair of leather gloves in the other pocket. I also hang an 8" Crescent wrench, hard hat, red blinker light, and an LED flashlight on my life jacket. I do carry some other things in the pockets and pouches such as spare batteries, small flashlight, etc as well.

The radio pouches are Int Orange and run $5o-$75 each. I wouldn't pay that but I have them because my company has issued them. An M-16 or AK magazine pouch will hold a PSK nust fine and run in the $5 range. ALICE clips on a mag pouch makes the pouch easily attachable to most life vests.

Wildman -- What is the radio you carry when you carry one? I carry an Icom M72 in my vest because even though it's an aviation vest, marine VHF channels (Ch.16) will probably get a faster response than others. That and it's got an IPX8 rating. Curious, because I need a pouch that will accept the antenna.

An aloksak bag or even a simple ziploc would work for basic waterproofness but they are not very durable. I was looking at some Maxpedition pouches yesterday and wondering if they would work, then I thought about my spare mini-camera case I have. It has a velco belt attachment and is about the right size. I can attach to either my main kit or to my person separately and perhaps use a altoids tin for the inner container.

We use ICOM handheld VHF-FM radio's. A hole has to be cut into the cover flap of the mag pouch to allow the antenna to be free.

The main point is to insure the pouch is deep enough to accommodat the length of the radio that you are using.

Thanks, that's similar to what I'm doing now. The radio is currently in a pouch with a double end zipper and the antenna sticks out through the zipper. I was hoping for a pouch which would cover the entire radio, antenna included.

My most carried is now in a Ziploc bag inside a dollar store pencil case.
