For our foreign visitors ... sorry that you miss this holiday. It is one of America's best inventions. I will enjoy my turkey, stuffing, wild rice, green beans, and cranberry sauce. No matter how much we talk about survival - sometimes it is very good to be at home!

As a relatively new vegan by preference to control wieght and diabetes, I will happily stray on Thanksgiving to enjoy tasting some of the family recipes claimed [not by me] to be hundreds of years old: chestnut stuffing, orange-cranberry dressing, and sinful gravy. The more important elements of the feast are the laughter and love of family; I hope you enjoy that diet wherever you are.

We're instituting a new tradition in my home this year - the Day After Thanksgiving. We all spend Thanksgiving with our families, but the day after I am hosting a dinner for close friends who have come to town for the holiday, and rarely get to spend as much time together as we'd like.

Plus it gives me a chance to try out my turkey fryer! Any recipe suggestions?
