I wanted to get some input on vacuum sealers...what's available that isn't crap, durability, etc.

Also, since I'm probably looking at sealing clothes and some larger items, any points to consider there as well?

We have a couple of Tilla food sealers, got both of them at Costco. We have been very happy with them, the only thing that ever goes wrong is the little rubber seal, and Tilla will send a new one for free if you ask...

I got mine from Wal-Mart and have been happy with it. The only thing I would do differently now would be to got one that can seal items before full vacuum. This would allow for sealing things that might be damaged or deformed from a full vac, or that might be dangerous (matches). Just something to consider.

Hi
I use the FoodSaver and I think its great for small stuff & food items.
For larger volume things you may want to try this little thing

I like this because you can re-vacuum-pack in the field.
There was a similar thread posted here before....
Look for : "...vacuum packing bulky stuff..."
Regards,
Pharaoh.

I did see the thread "vacuum packing bulky stuff" but it never really got around to specifics on models and especially vacuum sealing for larger stuff...blankts, jackets, clothing sets, etc.

It does look like the space saver bags may not reliable though.
