Nope. But it looks interesting. Kind of expensive for fatwood sawdust, though. I wonder if it's worth it?

I have found it very hard to light and not very compact. I much prefer tindercard, the Sparklite tabs, and cotton wool (+wax or vasaline).

Just get a fatwood stick. Scrape the side with your knife when you want some Maya dust. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Yes I have used it in my larger survival kit. It is made of pine wood, waterprooft with resin I've found a few disadvantages:
- You have to use a lot of dust if you want to start a fire. A bit won't work.
-If it's windy it's all over the place.

It does make sence to put it in a kit as addition, but it shouldn't be your only form of tinder.

I have used it. Has the same caracteristics as silver birch.You need to be reasonably generious with it. At least in the sense of giving your sparks somewhere to land. The tin it comes in is ideal as a tinder safe once you have used it all up.
