I was shown one of thse today by a co worker

Is this think a toy, or serious enough to consider? I know it will be a light weight, but within thier limits, it might be useful if it isn't garbage. I couldn't really get a good feel for it's quality. (Bit distracted.)

I had one of them I bought from brookstone years ago. I liked it, the blades and file arn't too strong on it (I wouldn't try sawing through anything thicker then a pencil), so you can't use it for heavy stuff, but it worked pretty well for what it has. The little screwdrivers, pen, and tweezers came in the handiest, the point was also used to help the tweezers reach splinters. For $15 I think it is worth it. I used to carry it in school where it wasn't really P.C. to carry a multitool and knife (though I usually had a small slipjoint). It fixed my glasses more then a few times.

They do work, but only for light duty, and they are very fiddly to switch tools with. I have looked at them many times and thought about buying one for a toy, but never have. The pen uses a special tiny refill, which in my case means it would never get refilled. I would rather carry an X-acto type handle and an assortment of blades.
