In heat and 100% humidity (like I lived with in Panama for 18 long months), you aren't going to be dry no matter what, so just enjoy the cooling rain. Soon as it stops you will be as dry as you were before it started...

Out comes the cash- buy ballons. There is always a ballon vendor. Use bunches of them to loft my poncho to keep the grill dry while cooking, tethered with the paracord that is wrapped around my ALICE packframe to make it quiet and more comfortable. Sit back, and enjoy the lightning and the thinning crowd. Take odds on the likely hood of the show being scrubbed.

Ok -- given the scenario -- an all day, outdoor music festival..here's the second twist. On the way out of the site, a small, two lane bridge on the only exit road is shut down, leaving thousands (including you) at the festival overnight, in you car. How would you do?

Oh, give me a hard one. Most of my crew has lived together at one point or another, either in dorms or small apartments. All of us camp, most in the winter. Many of us have overnighted at Renfaires together. Close quarters, not a big deal. I don't complain about stinky feet, they don't complain snoring, and we sleep.

Ha, piece of cake, since we have, in the pod on top of our little mini-SUV, a three season dome tent, two zip together mummy bags, self inflating pads, candle and battery lanters, etc, plus in a box in the back end at least three days worth of food, single burner stove, three plus gallons of water (plus whatever is in our two hydration packs and a six pack or two of 12 oz bottles of water). Bag of jerky, bunch of granola bars. Couple of poncho liners, fleece jackets with hoods. Wind up/solar/battery radio, I think that there might even be a two inch color TV in there somewhere. Couple of empty milk cartons to pee in. Tarp with paracord and spikes. Life is good...
