About two weeks ago I purchased an ASE 30 Fire Escape Smoke Hood fom Aeromedix. They advertised a 5 year shelf life. On taking delivery I noticed, from the packaging ,that the mask was already almost a year old. I called Aeromedix and asked for an exchange for a mask more recently manufactured or a 20% rebate. Let's just say that they were not responsive, arguing it was not their fault or responsibility and suggesting that I take it up with the manufacturer. I responded that I relied on their advertising, not the manufacturer's. Long story short= no result. CAVEAT EMPTORE.

My apologies. Sometimes, our customer service folks have brain farts and all I can do is shake my head.

Since the manufacturer does not have any newer dated hoods, I have ask the staff to refund the prorated difference you asked for.

Again, my apologies.

WOW!! I will take a look at AeroMedix for any future purchases. If someone is monitoring the Forum and I don't get satisfaction with Customer Service then at least there is a contact I can get in touch with on this board.

Now thats better service than my days at a nursery. Customer bought a pallet of landscaping rocks, these watermellon sized boulders of river polished grey and black granite. She came back very upset they all didn't match. I told her to bring in the defective rocks and she could sort through another pallet. Kudos for Aeromedix. Sometimes vendors are stuck between a rock and a hard place called supplier and customer.

I had a similar experience with Aeromedix several years ago, buying an electronic CO detector for a plane. It arrived with less than a year left until its stamped expiration date, and it was not an inexpensive item. Their phone representative was unresponsive at the time as well.

Guess I should have posted on this forum back then!

I do appreciate that Dr. Blue replied here and made right on Acropolis' purchase, but it would also be great to work to assure that old stock - especially for safety items - isn't sent out, or that proper expectations are set on the site.

Brent - if you happen to check back and read this, contact me with a PM and I will be glad to give you further details.
