In honor of our national holiday, and a visit to a recent music festival...A new practice scenario. (with twists!)

Here is the set-up: You and two friends are going to an all day, outdoor music festival. The forcast is for warm and humid and the fest is located in a higher elevation. Figure a 12-14 hour day.

A. What do you bring?
B. What should you plan/ Prepare for?

Let's see,

My new straw cowboy hat (this is a country musicathon isn't it?)

Lawn chairs (we are a tad too long in the tooth to stand 12-14 hours), maybe a small tarp to lay on too

Ear plugs

Sunblock

Sun glasses

Mini-binocs

Something in case of rain/cool temps (you didn't say how high the elevation is)

Couple of boxes of Travel-Johns, and a Lady-J for my wife (they never have enough porta-poties, and sometimes ya gotta go NOW)

Food/muncies and a rolling ice chest with drinks (who wants to stand in line forever and pay super high prices). If allowed. Trash bags, at least for your own trash

Camera/camcorder (if they will allow them, some don't. Try to find out in advance, hiking back to the car to put cameras in the trunk is a pain).

FAK of course

No blades (some concerts they search you, again you want to avoid that hike back to the car)

A good mood and lots of patience. Spending 14 hours in the sun along with a jillion other fans, many drunk, can be a little hard on the nerves...

OBG,
I know your are a law abidin' guy but I could tell you a lot of ways to sneak a little blade inside the show. One way is to simply insert a thin, petite blade into you wallet. Goes right by the pat down...Buck Hartsook works great.
Happy 4Th!
Bill

Actually, while still working, and on at a state facility to boot, I got into a Toby Keith concert with a .380 in my hip pocket. Not a real good patdown...

A working cell phone is important if you need to call for help or check in on the family back at home.

The rest was pretty well covered smile

Step one, dig out the ALICE frame.
Step two, dig out the cargo shelf.

Strap a camp chair, small cooler, rain gear, extra water, and bag with a thermal layer, FAK, sunblock, bug dope, regular glasses and little solar lanterns to mark corners with. Carry one end of the big cooler. Wear hat and shades, no wallet, just ID, one card and cash in front pocket.

Someone else is bringing the little stove, I get the heavy stuff. Sucks being the strongest in your crew. :P
