Sean Penn is directing a movie version of Krakauer's book.
I know a few will get all preachy about how Chris McCandles killed himself slowly. I think that is not the point of the story.

I loved this book; think I will read it again.

I read 3/4 of this book while working on a fire, when the fire was over I had to give the book back. I enjoyed what I read, Maybe I will go see the movie, Maybe.

I read the book...I won't be seeing the movie.

Given the way Hollywood always messes with things when they make a film from a book, I'll wait 'til it hits the $5 bin at Wallyworld...

I am only refering to his directing ability nothing more. He has shown great promise as a director.

Thanks for the info. Krakauer is one of my favorite authors. I'm surprised that they have made "Into the Wild" into a movie.
