There's probably already a topic on this knife, but I just wanted to say that when I took a look at it when visiting a local outdoor-store, I saw that the main blade wasn't serrated like this one: http://www.equipped.org/shot_show_2007_knives6.htm , but a regulair plain-edge. crazy

Are there different versions made of the knife, or was the knife from the review a prototype and I saw the modified version??

BTW: I didn't buy the rescue-tool. Instead I purchased a Benchmade Griptillian laugh

There may well be more than one model.

That's a very impressive bit of kit. As a useful tool for an emergency, that's worth having in your car/aircraft/boat.

Paint your own picture.

Contrary to the opinions of the review, a part serrated main blade with the serrates at the front of the blade is far more effective in a survival/rescue knife than a conventional serrated/half serrate/plain bladed knife. and having a blunt pointed rescue cutter is better around people's bodies. There are situations in which it is not possible or even wise to use a fire axe or power tools. Think leaking fuel tank........

I make that statement as someone who owns and has tested a Vic One-handed Trekker. Drop me in any north european forest with one and I will have a basic shelter up in about an hour and a all mod cons one in about 2/3.

One thing that I have found about Victorinox: What they say it will do, it will do.
