Can anyone suggest a caffeine gum product that I can get through the mail? It's been mentioned a little in this forum so I know some of you might be familiar with what is available. I'm looking for something that is the real deal not some campy low octane stuff. Any suggestions? Does this type of gum taste good? Or is it going to end up tasting like nicorette? Thanks in advance.

I am confused, can't you buy it in your local supermarket?

I haven't actually tried them, so I can't comment on the taste, but the ones I have heard of are the Stay Alert gum that is military issue and Jolt gum. I have seen Stay Alert sold on Ebay for roughly $1/pack (5 pieces/pack). One piece of Stay Alert has the caffeine of one cup of coffee, and Jolt gum about half of that. Since Jolt is a regular consumer product, I wouldn't be surprised if it tasted better than any military issued gum.

Although I have seen Black Black gum, made by Lotte and sold in Asian food stores, advertised as a caffeine gum, each stick only has a tiny fraction of the caffeine found in one stick of Stay Alert or Jolt gum, so not very useful unless you are very sensitive to caffeine.

I've seen mints and gum of that nature sold on Thinkgeek.com, targeted at computer programmers who need to stay up all night long. I'm not sure if that'd fall into your "campy" category, however.

The only one I've heard of is Stay Alert military gum. I have an unopened pack on my desk at work, so I can;t comment on taste. I love the instructions though...they go sort of like this:
"Chew one piece of gum for the equivalent of a cup of coffee. If that doesn;t work, chew another piece. If that doesn;t work, chew another one. Chew no more than 5 in 3 hours" Or something like that! Hilarious.
