When I'm at work, my "office carry" includes a Swiss-Tech MicroPlus, SOG CrossCut, and SOG CrossGrip. My mini's have their advantages and disadvantages. I'm thinking of getting a Swiss-Tech Utilikey. What minitools are your favorites and why?

I have carried a Leatherman Micra for the last 18 months. I find I like having the scissors. I also tend to use the phillips screwdriver and the bottle opener the most.

I gave my wife one for Christmas two years ago. She was unimpressed with it upon opening the gift. She was thrilled within several hours after using it repeatedly that day. She bought and gave away 24 Micras the following year. Same reaction from every receipent. Luke warm thank you when opening the gift. Within several days, she recieved a hearty Thank you! I did not realize how handy this little thing is.

After about a year, the scissors loosen up and do not cut as well. Some of that is because they are dull and some is from using the scissors when something heavier should have been used.

I haven't tried other mini tools but I have enjoyed carrying the Leatherman Micra.

You should try the SOG CrossCut. Very sturdy construction for such a small tool. It has gears for compound leverage, which comes in very handy from time to time. The CrossCut also has the best scissors I have ever seen in a minimultitool. Beats the scissors on my SAKs easily. And I love my SAKs. The CrossCut is a bit larger than most minimulti's and you should use the vinyl sheath that comes with it. The hex bolts will scratch your pocket's contents without it.
