Hey!

So I'm in need of some help. I'm not extremely experienced camping, hiking, climbing etc but I am by no means new to it.

My friends and I are planning on doing a survivor type team survival game. It'll be on geist resevoir (indianapolis) on a two acre island in the middle. We are planning on having three teams of four people each. The rules are pretty simple. The only thigns you can bring are things you buy with 40 dollars (maybe per team), a knife, the outfit you come in, sleeping bag, and two flashlights per team.

We're all 18 years old and have reasonable camping experience and are pretty crafty. Basically we want a challenge. We plan on playing capture the flag (and other games) for food and additional supplies. The water is terrible so we aren't going to trust a filter. Also, we are going to build a shelter to sleep under and a fire pit. Our buddies house is 500 yards from the island in case of an emergency and we'll have cell phones just in case.

Basically what are some suggestions as to what to purchase for food, equipment, and things like that? Do you have any reccomendations as to what to wear? I've been told to somehow wear several pairs of socks, quik dry pants/short combo, and long sleeve quik dry shirt.


Any other ideas for games we could play would be great. Once I learn more about it I'll post it up here.

How long is this event supposed to last for?

As long as your team will be able to last with the stuff you have. 3ish days?
