This probably barely counts but back when tropical storm Allison hit Houston the chemical plant parking lot where I worked began flooding. I grabbed two heavy-duty garbage bags and duct-taped them to my legs. Presto, instant waders. I was able to walk through the water/chemical soup and move my car to high ground. Then I had the pleasure of carrying several female employees to their cars. Apparently duct-tape and pantyhose don't go well together.

When I told DW about this she really wanted to know why the ladies insisted on being carried to their cars rather than just handing me their keys.
