The best info always comes from experience.

I've often wondered how many of the individuals on this board could carry, comfortably and for a distance, the gear listed in their woods bags or bobs. I tend to throw in everything I can fit, and then start parsing it down to a weight that is realistic. (Which means 1/2 my toy, ahem, gear stays home.)

Regarding the Miox, did you prefilter? Any issues regarding function and/or taste? I've run across a number of complaints posted on various boards regarding functionality. Personally, although boiling and chemical tx will render water potable, I prefer a filter rather than drinking water that tastes like beaver a$$.
