I'm not sure we still have a K-Mart around here and one store I was at I went near the smoking stuff but I didn't have a gas mask so I couldn't get close enough without the smell overpowering me to tell if there were any matches.
I used to find them around this time of year when the stores are stocking charcoal and all that stuff but now they are all safety matches or the big long lighters.

Try hardware stores, particularly franchised ones rather than chain stores.
