That's a refillable butane lighter. It's made by Solo. It has a nice strong jet flame, good in windy conditions, and it has a little heft to it, because of the metal case. It's been dropped plenty of times and still works! A couple other nice features are the mirror inside the cap (small, but, it would attract attention) and a compass on top. (Again, just a small button compass, but it is liquid filled and surprisingly accurate.)

I think I bought it at West Marine actually, a few years ago. Wind is a big problem on boats, I bought it for fusing the ends of lines when doing splicing on the boat, but, it has become a regular item for me now, rather than just on the boat.

Here's the latest. I don't carry both the Benchmade 707 and Charge Ti at the same time.

I carry a .32 Seacamp semi auto in my rear pocket in a small leather, suede side out holster to hide the profile. I have a CC permit. Plus wallet, knife, leatherman, mini bic lighter, pen and paper, and sometimes a mini first aid kit, but not religiiously.

My Seacamp might sometimes, rarely, be swapped out with a .38 snub revolver, but so much more conspicuous, and uncomfortable that I prefer the .32 and it has never been needed, nor noticed, but has been a source of great comfort on just a few occasions.

I haved thought more than once about getting a .32 Seacamp. How do you like it?

The .32 colt hammerless that I occasionaly carry is great at 15 feet or less and is comfortable to carry in my back pocket. It makes a great secondary (hidey) gun as well, in the field.

Is that the Strider SMF folder? If so, is it worth the price tag?

I have an OMC (pre-AMT) .380 Backup that I have carried in a hip pocket holster off and on for years. I like it just fine, but it is a single action semi-auto, I have always been interested in the Seacamp for its size and action...

I see you carry a spare batteie the same way as I do. Does anyone have some other ideas on where to store a batterie??

Just drop it to one of your pockets. It's already in rugged, dust and water resistant container.
A little better option is to attach a piece of elastic band in some rarely occupied spot in your pocket to eliminate bulk. The very nice spot (Ok, - for me) in the jeans-like pants is the space near the fly, at the very top spot of the pocket. A lighter, battery, or something like that - wouldn't be noticeable, not from inside, not from outside. It's not that much of a work to upgrade most of you outdoor clothes this way.

I love it. Perfect for every day carry, not overly accurate beyond 20 feet, no sigts to snag on clothing. A little picky on the ammo it likes, but there are a lot more options available now. When I got mine, almost 10 years ago, silver tips were about it, and it likes em. Well made, and easy to conceal.
