Does anyone use a small indoor air filter in the bedroom? my PC desk is coated in fine layer of dust every 2days. There is no construction projects going on around my building.

I have to clean the desk manytimes. The PC pick up a lot of fine dust and blowing it out of the rear vent.

Would a air filter suckup bedroom dust?

We have indoor air filtration in 2 different bedrooms and in the den. They work great on collecting dust but have limited effectiveness picking up dog and cat hair, for obvious reasons.

If it is airborne, they do a great deal of good.

Is this one of those Ionic Breeze machines?
I was thinking about getting one of those to put next to our cat litter box.
Do they make any difference with odors?

We're using Hepa filter types. No, they don't do much about odors (cat boxes, etc).

I have a sharper image Ionic fan unit here at work and love it. Though its getting old and the only setting it has is high and sounds like an aircraft taking off (probably some belt or some mechanical widget is loose or something).

Working in cube land, you notice it working especially in the afternoon.

I would highly recommend it.

don't know about the ionic breeze machines, but at the "boss's" insistence we switched to crystal cat litter from target - comes in big plastic containers. we have four cats. the odor has been greatly reduced - to almost zero - the crystals absorb the urine, and if the box is stirred you'd never know there was urine in it - can't see it or smell it - the crystals absorb the water from the poop - which reduces that odor to almost nil too... i think it is more costly than the traditional, but with the reduced odor, the reduced amount of debris, and the longer intervals between changing the litter make this a big thumbs up. i typically don't get excited about most products, but this i endorse - i like the cats, but hate the cleaning.

We have an Oreck at home. http://www.oreck.com/air-purifiers/xl_air_purifier_tabletop.cfm. Kind of pricy, but I did notice a big difference when we started using it. One thing though, it has a deionizing setting (blows negative ions into the air, causing particles to lose their positive charge and fall out of the air-or maybe that's the other way around). Seems I see more dust when that is turned on. I guess the theory is that it is better that it fall to the ground than stay in the air.
