What surprised me is what a Coastie QM could get roped into: Buoy tendering, icebreaking, patrolling, SAR, Combat SAR, air recon missions in fixed and rotary winged aircraft, working with Seal's, Delta's, Green Beret, Rangers, and a few Marines. Been in a few places and did a few things that never happened, amazing!!!

That's why I would get such a good laugh when people would say: "Coast Guard,,,humh, y'all just protect the coast, right?"
