I am looking for a metal cup that my 1 liter Nalgene bottle will fit into.

Main function would be boiling water.

The Vargo Outdoors "Ti-Lite Mug" fits over a 1 Litre Nalgene Bottle. Very lightweight and comes with a lid, which is important for boiling water efficiently.

I have one similar to the one you show from Campmor, it's on the bottom of a 1L Nalgene on the side of my daypack as we speak. I have only used it a couple times to boil water, and you need to put a hunk of foil over it, or something to boil faster, and keep the embers from landing in your water, but, it works fine. The handles are longer than most other cups, so they give you an extra inch of distance from the flames/coals when you go to pick up the cup, which helps sometimes. I think mine was made by someplace called GSI Outdoor, but, there are probably several companies that market the same cup under different names. It's stainless steel, so it's not as light as some of the Ti cups. On the other hand, it's $30 less expensive Cleans up nice, with the smooth stainless, even after being on the fire. I throw mine in the dishwasher at home after a camping trip, and it comes out looking like it's hardly used.

I like the SS cup better than the TI since it fits tighter but it's heavier. I made a little support/stove ala the GI canteen cup, see pix. The stand is made from aluminum stovepipe cut to fit the cup exactly, the L-shaped supports are made from the SS strips you get from old windshield wiper blades. Packed up, it's not much bigger than the cup itself. For a lid, there's HD aluminum foil.

Edit: Hmm the second image doesn't preview in the post...anyone know how to get this to work? It's just a picture of the stand wrapped around the cup anyway.

Yeah, you're right, Titanium is cool stuff, did you know that about 85% of the old SR-71 Blackbird was Titanium. (Now I sound like Cliff Clavin from Cheers)

I have the SnowPeak 700mL titanium cup. It has a lid and fits a 1L Nalgene. Expensive but nice.

Was the SR71 a bit like the Bristol 188

I have both the GSI and the Olicamp. In terms of fit and finish, identical, but you'd really have to work at it to have a substandard product of this nature. The Olicamp gets my nod though, because it has graduations.

For both of them, if you have a side-cut can opener, the end of a standard coffee can fits perfectly for a lid. You can see what I mean here: http://forums.equipped.org/ubbthreads.ph...=true#Post80717

The Vargo Ti-Light is larger than these are, but pricy. I wish they made a stainless version of it. It might be the perfect one, but I want a chance to handle it before I buy, the lid looks like a finger burner.
