I haven't researched the watches as of yet. My first requirement is that the watch is rugged. Normall I carry a Casio G-shock but the bands on that thing only last me a day.

Secondly I need to find one that emits a beacon of some sort. The whole premise is that I have been abducted or am trapped in a building and I can now signal rescue workers whether unconscius or not.

I've heard a rumor that there is a mini-epirb that you where as a watch.

Tried the Breitling Emergency?

It'll emit a signal on the 121.5 MHz distress band. (There's also a military version for 250MHz, but unsurprisingly that's only available to the military!)

DF: Thanks for undertaking to post your lists. I'm actually collecting lists with the idea of abstracting some general criteria. So I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your lists and adding them to my collection.

Thanks!

Yes you speak of the Breitling Emergency. WOW what a watch!!!! That one is in another league though and quite costly. They now also have cell phones with built-in GPS like the Benefon ESC! and the Garmin also have a cell phone GPS unit now.
