Oh man, it took me a bit, but I am slowly getting the household back up and running, and finally got the wi-fi going again. Had to do about 5 hours of update downloads on my home laptop. I've had two pizzas now, and have enjoyed nice, crispy bacon for breakfast yesterday and today. Went to Wendy's for Lunch and got a big real burger, without beetroot in it. Tomorrow I am making biscuits and gravy using some real Jimmy Dean sausage and egg substitute (I know, kinda a little contradictory, so I'm wierd) and some fresh brewed cowboy coffee. When I get into Manhattan on Monday, the first place I am heading after I get off the train is the Jewish bakery to get my most favorite bagel.

It is tough leaving behind a lot of new friends, especially with all the rain coming down here. Now I am back to solitude every night until my wife gets here at the end of June, though we do have a couple visits planned between now and then. I still have no idea exactly what I am going to be doing for work for the next couple months, so it seems another adventure will begin now. At least this one I should be in a more familiar environment.

It was nice to get some of my toys back in my hands. Having the Glock back under my head at night and my Busse American Kensei 47 sword in the corner sure is reassuring. If zombies get into my place in the middle of the night, they sure won't be happy about it when I find out. Like I told my buddy back in Iraq when he asked me what a sword like that is for, "Lopping heads of course" is still a legitimate use.

Jet lag is still kicking my butt, but I figured on that. Gimme a week and I will be back to my usual, insomniatic self again.
