BEIJING: 11/09/2002 16:27:09 <br>An oil tanker that ran aground on the coast of China today, exploded when crewmen set off a distress flare. <br>The Xinhua news agency reports two crew members are missing and eight are seriously injured after the blast on southern China's Guangdong coastline. <br>The vessel, which was travelling south from Nanjing to the provincial capital Guangzhou, was trying to shelter from an approaching typhoon when it ran aground on rocks. <br>The captain and 15 seamen abandoned ship and lit a distress flare, which ignited leaking oil. <br>The tanker then caught fire and exploded, forcing the rest of the crew to jump into the sea. <br>Fourteen seamen were rescued but two are still missing.<br><br>http://www.worldoil.com/news/newsstory.asp?ref=http://62.172.78.184/feeds/worldoil/new/article_e.asp?energy24=254399 <br>
