Text messaging capable phones are great, but in general, they are fragile.

To get around this problem,
I got an Otter Box case for my PDA/Cell phone. I recommend it highly.

With the some minor tweaking to improve sound quality through the case, I think these are a great products.

While the Otter Box may seem expensive, I think it is a bargain compared to the cost to repair, replace or be without your phone for a few days if you accidentally drop it.

The case does, however, make for a bulkier package. IMO, the extra protection is worth additional bulk.

Pelican also has a line of micro cases that would work for this application. Both Pelican and Otterbox seem to be of good quality.
